About Us
Woodworking Technology is a site for woodworkers and woodworking firms to find companies that manufacturer and distribute woodworking equipment and machinery. The site is run by the Woodworking Machinery Industry Association, otherwise known as the WMIA.
WMIA members are the best source for the finest and most technologically advanced woodworking machinery, equipment, software and services available world wide.
Our Mission
The WMIA's mission is to enlighten woodworkers and woodworking firms about the economic value of investing in and re-tooling with cost-cutting, high technology equipment. If you invest in technologically advanced machinery, you will reduce your dependency on costly labor-intensive practices and reverse and even eliminate the current bleeding of jobs to countries with cheaper labor. By investing in high-tech equipment, you'll create jobs for technologically skilled North American woodworkers while creating better products and more profit for North American woodworking firms. You'll also be able to eliminate overseas transportation costs and therefore afford to pay your workers more and still be competitive.
